The Vockery Madison Co marriage book states that the bondsman for the marriage of Joab Reeves, age 19, and Martha E. Gentry, age 22, was Bailey Gentry. Consent by M. E. Gentry, MG, "mother of the groom" which is not a typo. Joab's mother had married Bailey Gentry after the death of her first husband, Harvey Reeves.
Joab and Martha should be in the 1870 and 1880 Madison Co Censuses.
