Ephraim married at Simsbury on 16 Oct 1713, to the widow Marcy [Mary] Barber, daughter of Joshua and Ruth Holcomb. She was the widow of John Barber, and a sister of the wife of Ephraim's brother Samuel. Marcy brought two Barker children to the marriage - John, born 1705 and Mary, born 4 Jan 1709.

On 14 Jan 1717/8, Ephraim and his stepson John Barber went out to hunt horses - they were frozen to death in the woods on the 16th and found on the 17th.

There were two children born to Ephraim and Marcy: Mindwell, 25 Aug 1714 and Ephraim, 24 Nov 1717.
