Served in early colonial wars. Made over to his 2 sons, George and Walter, all his farm on June 16,1718, they to allow him during his lifetime one-third of all the produce, with the east end of the dwelling house and to fulfill the agreement he entered into with his present wife before their marriage. This deed was dated December 23, 1708, and that for his wife was drawn November 11, 1707 [Land Records, vol. 2, page 424.]
Gershom married a second time on 11 Nov 1707 to Elizabeth Peck Mason, widow of Samuel Mason.

Children stated other than George and Walter were Mercy, Gershom, Ichabod, Ann,, Elihu, and Mary. Presumably they were all born to his first wife.
