He died of massive cerebral vascular accident (stroke) & congestive heard failure and pneumonia. He was born 4 Apr 1898 in Bryson, TX, son of John Pinkney Dennis and Dora Ann Fentriss. He was never married. He was retired as a Spreading Machine Operator for the State Highway Dept. Buried Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.

In 1940, Herman Dennis, lived next door to his aunt Alta Dennis Moore - in the same house he had lived in 1935. He was by then age 49. Wife Edna was 43.
