The 12th family living in the Little Fork community in 1748 was that of Harman Miller, who was a chainman with Joseph Coons in the survey for Jacob Nay, and with Frederick Fishback in the joint survey for Utterback and Button, both in the year 1748. Harman Miller was apparently a young man and had just marriedElizabeth Holtzclaw, the third daughter of Jacob Holtzclaw. In his will in 1759 Jacob Holtzclaw left the Millers 300 acres of the 1300 acres patented at the Little Fork in 1748, and they were probably already occupying this land in 1748.
Lived in the Little Fork Area according to John Blankenbaker. Had brother John Frederick Miller who made an entry for land in the Henry County area in the spring of 1747/8. John Frederick had arrived in Va. in 1738/9. John Frederick had a son Harman according to Blankenbaker.
Jacob Holtzclaw's will does state that he devised 300 acres to AliceKatherine Hitt the wife of Henry Hitt "whereon Henry Hitt now lives". He also gave 300 acres to Elizabeth Miller wife of Harman Miller "whereonHarman Miller now lives". The 600 acres given to the two daughters camefrom a patent granted for 1300 acres in 1748. The will of Jacob Holtzclaw was written 15 Jan 1759.
