Amelia Putnam

( - )

Tillman Howard West was born to James West, and Morning Howard West. Morning and two sisters married James, William, and John West in Kentucky. The Mother of the Girls is Amealia Putnam Howard, She is a dirrect decendant of Isreal Putnam, of Revolutionary War fame. There is a Family history Drawer in the Goodnight Library in Franklin, Ky. The home, and the graves of James, and Morning Howard are south of Franklin, there is information in the Library, or Historical Society to guide you there. The Farm is near the "Prices Mill" it is shown on most maps. The earlier West individuals were orphaned and lived with "Aunt Lucy Fike" from Va. and She moved to Ky. with them.

The land grant in Ky. was given traced to William West [the elder], for services during the Revolutionary War [I find no evidence that his grants in Kentucky had anything to do with his revolutionary service]. He fought in the battle of Linley [Lundy?] Mills.
