Individual Details
James Frank Bowles
(14 Aug 1828 - 26 Aug 1880)
James married Margaret Martin in Ittawamba Co, MS. He prospected for gold in California and then Arizona where he lost his leg as the result of a gunshot wound sustained in a fall from his mule. Said to be buried, Boot Hill Cemetery, Tombstone, AZ, Aug of 1880.
The website of Boot Hill does indeed list Frank Bowles as buried there, 1880.
There is a small picture of his grave marker - a marker that has been placed in recent times. It is also on FindAGrave. The story there is that he was thrown from his horse, his gun went off and shot him in the leg, and he did not seek medical attention soon enough, and therefore, died.
