Individual Details
Sir Richard de Waldegrave
(Ca 1380 - 2 Mar 1434/5)
Richard was a Knight of Smallbridge, Bures St. Mary. He was son and heir of an earlier Sir Richard Waldegrave, by wife Joan, daughter of Robert Silvester.
One reference states that.
Richard and Joan had only one son, William, and one daughter, Agnes, who married William Hunt. They are both buried at Bures St. Mary, Suffolk.
However, other references seem to suggest that the son was Richard, not William. Burk's Peerage gives the son's name as John.
There were actually three successive Sir Richard Waldegraves whose wives were named Joan. The article on Sir Richard (1338-1410), Speaker of Parliament, on "The History of Parliament" website, states that with treasonable certainit, the Speaker's son married Joan Munchensy, daughter of Thomas Munchensy of Edwardstone, Suffolk. And his son Richard, born bef 1405 and knighted by Mar 1421, married Joan, daughter of John Doreward of Bocking (also a Speaker of Parliamen).
