Son Taylor. born 25 Feb 1858, died 27 Nov 1919
Obit:
Taylor HOLTSCLAW was born February 25, 1858, and departed this life November 27, 1919, aged sixty-one years, nine months and two days.
He was the son of Benjamin and Jane HOLTSCLAW. The father and an infant sister and brother preceded him to the better land
He leaves his aged mother, a brother, Henry, a sister Sarah, at home; a brother B. F. HOLTSCLAW, of Center Township; four sisters—Mrs. Mary ALLEN, of Solsberry: Mrs. Alice BAYS, of Center Township; Mrs. Elisabeth ANDERSON, of Linton, and Mrs. Malinda KIRK, of Brownwood, Mo., with a host of distant relatives, friends and neighbors to mourn his departure.
He will be greatly missed in the home, as he was a kind, loving, dutiful son and brother; always at home, the head of the house; Sarah having said during his sickness, “we can’t do without Taylor.” As a neighbor there were few like him, always ready to lend a helping hand in sickness and during rush or busy times on the farm. We will all miss him, but our loss is his gain.
He was thoroughly converted during his sickness and departed this life in the triumph of a living faith.
