Alexander Logan Morton

Alexander received an appointment to West Point in 1864, graduating in 1868. He was assigned to the 5th U.S. Artillery and after service in the West, as an instructor at the Academy. In 1885, he was also graduated from Columbia College Law School and admitted to the Bar of New York. He was a Presbyterian and a Republican. He was 6' 3" in height. He married 21 Jan 1879 to Mary E. Barber. There was one child, a daughter Elizabeth Alexandra.
