Thomas C. Hayden, Sr. died at the Smithville Hospital & Clinic in Smithville, Bastrop Co TX. His residence was approximately two miles northeast of Smithville; he had lived there for 50 years. thomas died 17 Feb 1964 at age 79. He was born 2 Mar 1884 in Kentucky. He was a retired Railroad Conductor for the MK&T Railroad. He wss married. His father's name stated as B. Frank Hayden; his mother as Elizabeth Coffee. Thomas died of heart disease. Thomas C. Hayden Jr. was the informant. Thomas was buried Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville.

The grave marker as picture on FindAGrave.com says that Thomas was a U. S. Army Major during World War II.
