Edmond Blankenship

(1794 - )

Supposed to be this Edmond - but cannot be since his age was stated as 46 in 1854 in the estate settlement of his father:
The marriage bond was dated 23 Jan 1822, Bibb Co, AL, to Sarah Cargile. Micajah Cargile was security - neither Edmond nor Micajah could read or write and there are numerous errors in the bond at FamilySearch.org. In one place Edmond's name is written as Edmond "Cargile".

The following is a puzzling record since there was no five-year-old son with the family in 1850 - did D. Blankenship badly mistate his age?
Kansas Marriages at FamilySearch.org: D. Blankenship, born 1845 in AL, age 45, was married to Pheba Jane Potinfield Moore on 27 Jan 1890 in Oswego, Labette Co, Kansas. He stated his parents were Edmon Blankinship and Sarah Cargell. Pheba was age 40, born in Illinois, her parents were John Putinfield and Ellen Moore.

(probably the elder Edmund who married Hannah Frost)
19 Jul 1810, Taxable Propery in Madison Co, Mississippi Territory (later Alabama)

1830 Census. Madison, AL

RootsWeb has a cemetery entry - born 14 Mary 1783, died 12 Sep 1833 in Madison Co, AL - if this is true then the following entries cannot be his. Neither was he alive to father the above D. Blankenship who married in Kansas. FindAGrave and Billion Graves have no entry. This in fact appears to have been an older Edmund who was married to Hannah Frost, 15 Apr 1809, Madison, AL (this wouldn't have been Alabama yet....) They are said to be buried Blankenship Cemetery, Moores Mill, Madison Co, AL.

I have found evidence of two Edmund Blankenships - about the same age living in Alabama.
One said born about 1805 and married Letha Bayless, 15 Dec 1839, Madison Co AL. His sister Lavenia married William Anderson Glasscock and this seems to be the Edmund of 1860. However his mother is said to be Hannah Frost and his father an earlier Edmund Blankenship, born in Tennessee 1786-1790.

7 April 1856. Edmond Blankenship received a final distribution of $105.00 from the estate of his father, Daniel Blankenship. No residence stated.
