The Seabolts had Cherokee Indian blood - the father of Josiah, Joseph Seabolt, is thought to be the son of a Henry Seabolt and Annie Crying Bear of the Cherokee Nation. Joseph's wife was Nancy Ann Hair who was born to Susannah [DaLaSaNe] Reese and James Hair in the Cherokee Nation and she walked the Trail of Tears in 1838 as a nine-year-old child.
