Frances Shifflett, daughter of John Shifflet. was named as the wife of Bland Ballard in the publication Hayden Quarterly. Other sources say that Bland Ballard's wife was Mary Deering, daughter of Robert & Elizabeth Deering. I've seen no proof either way. There may indeed have been two Bland Ballard of approximate age and both of them may have had a daughter named Ann. One of the Ann Ballards married Thomas Maupin, 13, Aug 1789 - she seems to have been younger than the Ann Ballard who was the wife of William Haydon, and her mother is said to have been Frances Shifflet.

Living at Harrodsburg, Mercer Co., KY in 1779 - this might have been his son instead, since this Bland died in Spotsylvania Co. His son Bland was deceased before the father.
