Said to have married Sarah Slaydon 25 Nov 1800 Allegheny Co PA   [I think this is WRONG.... I believe Wilmoth's brother Clement Walters was married to Sarah "Sallie" Slaydon and I doubt that the marriage took place in Allegheny Co as the Slaydons lived in Pittsylvania Co where the Walters were living at the time.  I also do not believe Clement Scott married at age 14. Of course the birth year for Clement could be wrong.  Another instance of the wrong marriage being assigned to the wrong person because given names were the same.]

Other databases give the marriage as Pittsylvania Co, VA - the above was probably confusion with the names Pittsylvania and Pennsylvania. They also give a birth as early as 1770, which makes considerably more sense. The 1830 Cumberland census says he was born between 1770 and 1780. It is likely if Clement married Sally Slaydon - she was a different person from the Sally who married his uncle Clement Walters - they had married several years earlier based on ages of their children. When the marriage eventually appeared on FamilySearch - Sarah's parents were listed as William & Nancy Slaydon.
