DEATH OF MRS. NANCY HODGE
Noble Christian Woman Goes to Her Reward After Nearly Niney Years of Activity
Mrs. Nancy Hodge, widow of the late William Hodge, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. M. Thompson, six miles northeast of Columbia at 7 o'clock yesterday morning, March 25, 1897, aged 89 years.
Mrs. Hodge was born in Clark County, Kentucy on March 3, 1808, and came to Boone county in 1857. She leaves four children, Eli, Walter F., J. E., and Mrs. F. M. Thompson. Walter is the circuit clerk of Boone County and Col. Eli Hodge is duputy in the office. J. E. Hodge is postmaster at Stephens Store, Callaway County....
Her health was good until last Sunday, when she fell and suffered a dislocation of the hip.... Her funeral will be preached at the home of Mrs. Thompson Saturday. The interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery at 3 pm.
