A family letter stated that Maj. Richard Noel served in the War of 1812.

There is also living with the family in 1850, a Susan Noel, age 27. She is listed after the others and I would expect she may be the wife of William. There is also a Sarah White, age 65, in the household - is this a mother-in-law of William? Or is this Sarah Jones, Sallie's aunt, who married Garland White?

They lived next door to William D. Haden, Sallie's brother. William D. came first and is on a page that gives the P.O. as Lafayette Hill; his family continues to the next page and Richard Noel's family but that page has the P.O. as Palmyra. They were living a short distance from Nancy & William S. Lane - Nancy an aunt to William D. & Sallie, and Peggy Haden, another aunt and sister to Nancy.
