In 1860, there was in Wilson Co, a Mary Adamson, age 22, living in the household of Samuel Hathaway, age 77, b. NC and Ruth Hathaway, 79, b. MD. Was this Mary perhaps another child born to the first marriage of William - to Sarah Hathaway and living with her grandparents?

Has someone "assumed" she was another daughter of Simon & Sarah Cox Adamson?

There is also a Mary Adamson living with the elder Simon, father of the Simon who married Sarah Cox, in 1870, she was age 53, or born about 1817. Carline Cettars, age 16, also lives in the household. Is this a daughter of the elder Simon? An aunt to the daughter of William? Or is this the widow of John Adamson who died?

There is a marriage record in Wilson Co, TN for a Polly Adamson to Jesse Pugh, 28 Apr 1835. She may have been an Adamson by marriage - the widow of John Adamson, because Polly David had married John Adamson, 3 Dec 1825, Wilson Co. If this is all the same Polly, she would likely have been born circa 1805-1810 with 1810 being the latest - she could have been the first child of Simon & Sarah but would not have fit anywhere else.
