DIX, Edward, page 551: in relation to his will: "...my son John Dikes shall enjoy a double portion with the addition of ten pounds a mare colt now running in the woods"; ...and appointed "my son John Diks" sole executor [MPR Case #6296].
On 2 October 1660 John Dix chose Sgt. John Wincoll as his guardian [MPR Misc].

John Dix of Watertown, Middlesex County. All debts to be paid. To Elizabeth beloved wife, use of my whole estate both real & personal during her natural life. My real estate to be managed by sons Edward and Joseph Dix.
To son John Dix, the sum of five pounds with what I have already given him.
To children of the daughter Elizabeth Stearns, dec'd, the sum of twenty pounds to be equally divided.
To my daughter Abigail Grout, twenty pounds.
To daughter Deborah Phillips, the sum of twenty pounds.
To sons Edward and Joseph Dix, all housing and lands to be equally divided, they paying all my debts and provide comfortable maintenance of my wife. She shall have full power to sell any part of my land for her comfort.
Exec: my wife and son Edward Dix. Edward to pay the legacies mentioned.
