THOMAS Parke

(Ca 1626 - 11 Aug 1690)

Thomas is said to have come with his parents about 1635. There is a ship's passenger lists which seems to list his parents - however, the two children with them are neither one named Thomas, although the eldest is about the right age.

At a court appearance, Jun 1679, Thomas gave his age as 50.

12 Apr 1665, Thomas Parke was a constable, Cambridge Village. Admitted there as a freeman 31 May 1671.

His estate was divided among his heirs 1693-4, comprising 722 acres and part of a Corn nill on Smelt brook built by Lt. John Spring.

Some databases state he was in King Philip's War. There was certainly another Thomas Parke from Wethersfield CT that was in King Philip's War. It is possible some of their information has been confused. The Thomas Parke from Connecticut married Dorothy Thompson.

Thomas inherited a 600 acre tract from his father in Cambridge [NewTown or Newton]

There is an Administration granted 1690, Cambridge Village, Middlesex Co, MA, #16454.
The Inventory of the estate of Thomas Parke was taken 30 Sep 1690; the estate divided 3 Oct 1691.
Among the heirs were John [the eldest], Richard, Edward, Jonathan, Abigail Fiske, Sarah Knapp, Rebecca Sanger and Elizabeth Park. There were 722 acres of land and share in a corn mill on Smelt Creek, built by John Spring.
