DAR Lineage: Served as ensign in 6th Co, 1st Battalion, Bedford County PA militia in 1777. Born in Germany; died in Bourbon County KY
From "Horn's Papers", Vol 3, p.62. Western PA: "Warth's Walk" 357 5/8 acres surveyd on VA Certificate. Patented 17 Sep 1787 to Henry Ewalt. One farm lay between this farm and "Woodland", belonging to Abraham Frye, Sr.
4 Aug 1788, John Haggin of Harrodsburg deeded to Henry Ewalt, 200 acres of land north of Cooper's Run Creek for £110. Tract now in Bourbon Co KY. Known as "Ewalt's Crossroads". The home built about 1795 is still occupied by Ewalt descendants.
Last Will and Testament dated 26 Jan 1827. Gave to wife Elizabeth "all goods and chattles or pershiable part of estate to possess during her natural life"; viz: Negroes, farming utensils, household & kitchen furniture, stills with all appendages, livestock. At her death all to be sold and divided equally among all the children. Sally Culp, granddaughter, one female negro Charlotte. Elizabeth Ravencraft, one female negro Patsy. Sons Henry Ewalt Jr. and Richard Ewalt to be executors. Witnesses: William Jordan, Noah Spears, James Moore, Abraham Frye. Nov Term 1827, Bourbon County Court: proved by oath of Noah Spears and Abraham Frye. Will Book G, p.525. [This would have to be the Abraham Frye who was the son of James Frye/Nancy Spears that remained in Kentucky and did not go to Missouri.]
