James Arthur Bertram died in Abilene, Taylor Co, TX. His address was 825 Buccaneer Drive. He was married and had been a carpenter. He was born in Booneville, AR, 25 Sep 1892 and was age 69 at his death, 28 Jun 1962. His father was W. F. Bertram; his mother was Sara Lowe. The informant was Mr.s Lillie Bertram. He died of cancer of the bladder with metastasis to the liver. He was buried Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.

Clipping found in Audrey White Haden's papers describes this family of a Bill Bertram. This is the brother off William Eston Bertram. Dated 28 Jun 1962 - probably from an Abilene, TX newspaper.

James Arthur Bertram, 69, a resident here since 1945, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday at his home, 825 Buccaneer Dr.
Born Sept. 25, 1892, in Booneville, Ark., Mr. Bertram attended high school in Whiteright, Tex., and Grayson College in Whiteright. He was married to Lillie Thomas in Honey Grove, Dec. 18, 1913. The couple moved to Snyder in 1923 and moved to Eula from Snyder in 1938 and in 1945 moved to Abilene.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott's Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Joe David Ruffin, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
The body will lie in state at Elliott's Funeral Home. The casket will not be opened at the service.
Surviving are his wife: one son, Bill Bertram of 2510 Woodard St.; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Givson of Grant's Pass, Ore., Mrs. Nolia Rittenberry, 1850 Cedar, Mrs. Nell King of Amarill, Virginia Yeager of Colorado City; three brothers, W. E. of 1117 Buccaneer Dr., Seth of Lubbock, Tom of Hobbs, N.M.: four sisters, Mrs. Earl Grantham of Morton, Mrs. Fay Vaught of Monahans, Mrs. Eddie Sumner of Monahans, Mrs. Granville Ledbetter of Tokio, Tex.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
One son, Thomas W. Bertram, who was killed in Germany in 1944 while a member of the Armed Forces, preceded him in death.
