Thomas appears on the 1769 list of Taxables in Dobbs Co NC. The list included males 16 and over. The family moved to Chatham Co in 1772.
1785 Thomas bought land from Henry Bray.
Married Hannah Ward who was a sister to Ruth Ward who married his brother John. They may have been daughters of a Thomas Ward who is in the 1790 Census, near Siler City.
6 Mar 1779 He was disowned from the Cane Creek MM for marrying out of unity.
Thomas said to have died of a fever.
His Will was dated 19 May 1787 and proved that August. His will names his wife Hannah, and his brothers Edom, Amos and Abner and mentions "sons" but does not give their names. His father's will did name, Job, Samuel, Elias, John, Thomas, as his grandsons, sons of his deceased son Thomas.
