Individual Details
James F. Riddle
(11 Oct 1875 - 8 Aug 1877)
I suspect the grave marker of James has been misread or is wrong. It is in History in Headstones as "James Riddle, son of W. H. and S. E. Riddle, 1870-1892.
There was no child James in the 1880 Census, and William Henry & Sarah were not likely wed in 1870 - William Henry would have been only 14.
1880 Census. Jasper Twp, Crawford Co AR
Henry Riddle, age 25, b. AR. Sarah E., age 28, b. AR.
George H. age 5. Josiah, age 3 months.
However, in 1900, Sarah did say she had 8 children of whom only 7 were living. Sanford was not yet born and the other seven are listed in 1900. So it's obvious there was a son named James, probably born sometime between 1880 and 1892.
Actually, the book above is wrong. FindAGrave memorial #29217028 has a photo of this stone, obviously a very old stone. Plainly seen:
James F. son of W. H. & S. E. Riddle, born Oct 11, 1875, died Aug 8, 1877.
So his parents probably married late 1874, early 1875.
