KOSCIUSKO -- Frances Emma Haden Davis, 72, retired licensed practical nurse, died Tuesday of cancer at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kosciusko First United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Kosciusko City Cemetery. Jordan Funeral Home has charge. She was a graduate of Jones County Junior College in Ellisville and completed nursing school at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital through Holmes Junior College in Goodman. She was employed at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital for 15 years and was a member of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Davis leaves three daughters, Martha Davis-Edgins of Denver, Frances Davis of Baton Rouge and Patsy Davis Poole of Kosciusko; a son, John Ford Davis Jr. of Greenville; her mother, Dussie Dendy Haden of Kosciusko; a sister, Lina Cunningham of Charlotte, N.C., six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or Sta-Home Hospicenty.
