Only one Monroe Falwell was found in the 1860 census, and he was of the right age and in Tennessee. His father was apparently Joseph Falwell - Monroe gave the name Joseph to his eldest son.

Monroe, age 24. Harrison age 19. Catharine age 15. John C. age 11. Ferdinand age 10. Arabella age 8. Peniza age 5 [female child], Joshua age 3, and Thomas age 1. Elizabeth Ford, age 68, born in Ireland, was a domestic in the household.

Looking back in 1850, Joseph was in Williamson Co TN - the information slightly different but it's obvious this is the same family.
