Jacob Waggoner

(Abt 1763 - 4 Jul 1843)

A FindAGrave Memorial # 5072768, states that Jacob was an early settler in Indian Creek, Martin Co, Indiana and that Wagooner's Chapel Cemetery, where he is likely buried was named. for him. Another person posted that Jacob's brother Henry was buried here twenty years prior and that other family members are here. One problem with this story is that Jacob was living in Lawrence Co at least as late as 1840. The counties are adjacent.
Find A Grave Memorial# 16588336 is a newer replacement memorial and shows a picture of his grave marker, Waggoner Cemetery, Silverville, Lawrence Co IN. Name is on the stone as Jacob X Waggoner. (The story is that he "liked" to put the X as his middle name - NO, he made the X because he could not sign his name!)

He apparently married again after the death of Jane - There is a Lawrence Co, IN married of Jacob Waggoner to Elizabeth Brock (she was nee Clark according to FamilySearch), 14 Jan 1839
