Edmund received bequests in the wills of his father [21 Aug 1610] and his mother [31 Aug 1610].

There is a widespread misconception that this couple had descendants in New England. The will of the Rev. John Sherman in 1658 mentioned two children of uncle Edmund Sherman, but did not name them.

The nuncupative will of Edmund Sherman of Colchester St. James, webster, made Aug 1661 and proved in Colchester 14 Oct 1661 by Edmund Sherman, described in his will his "only child, the sole executor" to whom he left all goods and estate. Taken together the two wills suggest that the last surviving daughter had had died between 1658 and 1661.
