Milner married Sarah Lewis, 25 Dec 1766, St. James Northam Parish, Goochland.

Milner had an earlier child, apparently illigetimate, to an Elizabeth Pollock. In The Douglas Register, p.281, there is the following under births and baptims: "Milner Radford & Eliz. Pollock a daughter named Lucy born April 5 1761 in fornication. Baptized 1761, Aug. 6. p. 60"

The baptisms of the children of Milner Redford and Sarah Lewis took place at St. James Northam.

....a daughter called Mary born 27 Dec 1773; baptized 27 Feb 1774
....a son named William born 10 Jul 1777; baptized 3 Sep 1777 [this son likely died because the next two sons were also named William]
