ANDREW PARKER DIED THURSDAY IN GILMAN HOME
Andres Sylvester Parker, 88, one of the oldest residents of the Gilman community southeast of Alexandria, and who had lived there all of his life, expired at his home at 4 am Thursday after an extended illness.
...The body was taken to the Roger C. Gipe mortuary her and prepared for burial. This afternoon it was returned to the family home, where friends may call until the funeral hour.
Mr. Parker was born in Delaware county just east of Gilman, Oct 28, 1854, a son of John and Nancy (Garner) Parker. On Nov. 6, 1879, he was married to Miss Ella Manring, who survives Him.
...He and Mrs. Parker celebrated the 63rd anniversary of their wedding this month.
The surviving members of the immediate family beside the wife include a daughter, Mrs. Della Miller, of Miami, Fla., a son Dora e. Parker, of Muncie; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Perry of Muscle, and three grandchildren, one of whom, John Parker, is with the army at a camp in Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday at the Pleasant Run Church, eight miles southeast of Alexandria, and Interment will be in the Jones cemetery near the church.
