Her Confirmation Certificate in German found online, dated 9 Apr 1911 also gives her birth as 2 May 1895. Signed by H. M. Schriener, Lutheran Pastor.
There is also a newspaper article describing the 125th anniversary of the Zion Lutheran Church to which the Priebe family belonged. It is from The Courier, Russellville, dated 3 May 2008. The building had been vandalized and burned in 1978, but rebuilt. Organized in the village of Augsburg in 1883, about 15 miles northwest of Russellville - most of the families originally from Germany but moved to Arkansas from the Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, responding to ads in the German-language newspapers. Martin Priebe, baptized in 1915, was still living in 2008. During WWI, it was considered unwise to marry outside the Lutheran community. After the Depression in the 1930's, many of the families moved West, mostly to California. Until 1936, the church operated a parochial school with lessons taught in both English and German.
