Individual Details

Believed to be an illegitimate son of King Henry VIII. King Henry granted the Carys manors and estates immediately before the child's birth. The King did already have another royal bastard. He was placed under the care of his aunt, Queen Anne (Boleyn) after the death of his father when Henry was only two. During the reign of his cousin [or half sister] Elizabeth I, he was ennobled as Lord Hunsdon, however he was on his deathbed at the time.
