[If this is the same John, his wife seems to have died and the child Nancy has married or died or is living with someone else. There is another problem - he appears to be living in the household of one Jesse Reynolds with a large group of people - Reynolds household is number 317 and the household following John Hays' listing is 319. It would appear most likely that John Hays' number was omitted. This could also be the John Hays, son of Henry Hays & Elizabeth Dillard who was a single man in 1850, listed then as age 27, born in NC. The age fits neither man.]
