Richard Chaney III

(Abt 1630 - )

A record in the Hall of Records, Annapolis, shows Richard Cheyney & Charity his wife, arrived in Maryland by 1658, without children. They were allowed 50 acres each for their own transportation to the providence. Up until 20 Jun 1652, persons were allowed 100 acres each.
A deposition of their daughter Elizabeth Cheney Iiams, stated in 1775 that she was 74 years of age [born 1651], presumably in Maryland as there is no record showing she was transported.

Richard Cheney's parents were Richard Cheney II, born 25 Jan 1595 in Lond and Ann Ellinor.
He married Mary Charity Wood.

Richard Cheney Sr wrote his will 1685. A note says it was not offered for probate until 14 May 1724, but that seems to be inaccurate as he was listed as deceased and his inventory submitted by Walter Phelps & Robert Hopper in 1688.
