Polly married John Berges in 1806.

It is my belief that Polly does not belong here in the family of Bond Veale II. Her marriage is recorded 11 Nov 1806, Halifax Co, VA. Chapman Poindexter was bondsman. I think it more likely she was a daughter of Chapman who was born 1760, by an unknown early wife. The name of her husband has also been transcribed as John "Bayes".

The problem is actually establishing a residence for Bond Veale I in the early 1800's. He married for the second time in Jefferson Co, TN, 20 Jul 1800, to Rachel Patton, and it's unlikely he was in Halifax Co VA at a time for his daughters to be marrying. In fact it is said that the only child of this late marriage, Samuel Wiley Poindexter, was born in Claiborne Co, TN in 1807. It is true that his son Bond Veale II was married in Halifax Co in 1804, but were his sisters living with him? Since their father had remarried they could have chosen not to remove to Tennessee with him, but that seems to be a bit unusual for teenage daughters.
