Individual Details

Apparently both John Sr and Jr married Abigails. On FamilySearch, Abigail appears as Abigail Harrington, but she's born after her children. I have also seen her as Abigail Harrison. The following book found online indicates that the young John's mother was Abigail HARRISON and suggests that his wife was possibly Abigail Harrington. I have no primary proof of either Abigail's surname.

There is a marriage record in Lexington, for a John Petts of Townsend to Abigail Harrington of Lexingtion, 1 Marcy 1737/8. She could not have been the mother of his children all born prior to 1727. This is obviously the young John.
