John Mills Sneed was the only known son of Benjamin Sneed. Born 2 Feb 1755 in Albemarle Co VA, married 10 Nov 1783, and died in Kentucky 25 Dec 1855. He was a private secretary to Thomas Jefferson, a volunteer in the expedition against the Cherokee Indians, a soldier in the Revolutionary War, a friend of Daniel Boone.
