Sarah Ann was the widow Yerkes when she married Moses Adamson. Josiah Yerkes was born 10 May 1815, died July 1852, Carroll County, IN. They were married 20 Nov 1845 in Carroll Co, IN.

Josiah Yerkes, Sr.'s will is recorded Carroll Co IN, Will Book 1, p.120. dated 16 Aug 1847. It is very difficult to read. Appears to state that ten dollars was to be divided equally among his several children. His Son H??? to have the home place. Something to be divided between four/five daughters equally, No wife or executors named. Witnesses were Samuel ??? and another name I cannot read. When the will was bought into court, Yerkes was said to have died about the ?th day of July 1852 and was of sound mind and memory, dated 24 Jul 1852.

Death of Mother Adamson
Sarah Ann Hodge was born in Butler County, Ohio, 17 April 1825. Departed this life April 19, 1909 making her age at the time of her death 84 years and 2 days.
She was first married to Josiah Yerkes November 20 1845. To them eight children were born, three of whom are living, two being present at the funeral, Thomas, the youngest son who lives in Texas being unable to be present.
After the death of Mr. Yerkes, she was married to Moses Adamson, October 17, 1861. Only one child was born to them which died in infancy.
When but a child the deceased moved from Ohio to Indiana where she spent the early years of her life. Son after her marriage to Mr. Adamson she came to Iowa in which state she has lived ever since. She has been a resident of Stuart for 34 years. At the age of 10 she was converted and united with the Methodist Church in which communion she has lived with great joy to herself and great blessing to her associates.
The funeral took place in the Methodist Church, conducted by her pastor. The remains were laid to rest in the Oak Grove Cemetery

Miss Vianna C. Yerkes died 17 Apr 1920 after an automobile accident which damaged her left lung. She lived in Knoxville, TN and was born in Indiana, 24 Nov 1851. Her father was Josiah Yerkes, b. IN; mother Sarah E. Hodge, b. Ohio. J. T. Yerkes of 110 Market St, Knoxville was the infomant. Buried Woodlawn Cemetery, Apr 18th.
