Individual Details
Robert Nesbit Hoag
(16 Nov 1795 - 10 Mar 1877)
Son of Jonathan and Sarah (Hall) Hoag.
Robert, a Quaker, was "read out of meeting" for marrying Abigail Gifford, a non-Quaker in 1819. The Quakers detailed records show Robert's dismissal occurred on Jan. 13, 1820 in their Easton register. However Robert was reinstated when he married, Elizabeth Beard on Nov. 28, 1839, after Abigail's death. Elizabeth (1800-1875) was a Quaker in good standing, she and Robert did not have any children.
He is believed to be buried Friends Burying Ground, White Creek, Washington Co, NY, but there is now no marked grave.
