Elihu Gifford left only $1 to this grandson in his will - but Peter died before his grandfather did. He is thouht to have had a son, Peter Allen Gifford, Jr. born 1839 - but the young Peter drowned in Albany at age 8. He is also buried in family burial ground at Easton.
