John Hawley, "Patterson Genealogy Connection," e-mail message from Hawley6826@aol.com> to author, 4 January 2001

Hi Jeanne, my name is John Hawley from San Antonio, TX and I believe we have
a genealogical connection. I have been searching for information on my
g-grandmother (May Etta Patterson) from Berlin, VT. It is almost like she
disappeared after she gave birth to my grandmother. I am wondering if she
died young, who her other children/husbands were, etc.
I thought I might have hit my brick wall until today when I found information
that you submitted to "Rootsweb."
Hopefully, you can help me, or refer me to someone who can.
Thank you very much and looking forward to your reply,
John

Below is all the information that I have collected to date:

The following information was found on source document indicated.

1880 Census (Berlin, Washington County, VT)

Patterson, Geo. A., White, Male, Age 29, Head of House, Farm Laborer, Born
Vermont, both parents born Vermont.

Patterson, Mayetta, S. (nee: Braman), White, Female, Age 28, Wife, Keeping
House, born Vermont, both parents born in New Hampshire (note: Jeanne, on
this one you have Mary E.)

Patterson, Albert E. White, Male, Age 10, Son, Attending School, born Vermont

Patterson, Etta Mae., White, Female, Age 6, Daughter, born Berlin, VT.
Note: This is my g-grandmother. She gave birth to my grandfather (Richard
Patterson on Sept 26, 1895). Her husband was: H. Jarvis Patterson.

Patterson, Ernest L., White, Male, Age 4, Son, born Vermont

West Berlin Cemetery in Riverton (Berlin, VT)

Patterson, George A. Nov. 13, 1850 - 1898
Mayetta S. Braman, his wife, June 1851 - 1926
Patterson, Lillian A., 1881 - 1898
Patterson, Lola D., May 1884 - 1900
Patterson, Ernest L., 1875 - 1903
Patterson, Charles A., 1855 - 1935 (George's brother)
Mary A., his wife, 1857 - 1948
Elliot, Joseph T., 1875 - 1935
Alice M., his wife, 1877 - 1955 (MayEtta's relative? nee: Braman)

1895 Montpelier, VT Census

The George A. Patterson family was living at 16 North St. at that time.

Occupants of that home were, Mayetta, Etta M, Lillian, Lola, and George B.
who was age 3. It appears that Albert & Ernest had already left home. George
A. Patterson's occupation was Truckman.
(end)

Jeanne, in my first paragraph I meant to say my g-grandmother, Etta May
Patterson, who gave birth to my grand father (Richard Patterson). Etta May's
mother was May Etta Patterson. It's confusing I know.
