Vol 4, p.213 Court and Testamentary Business 1643
Nov 1th. Tho. Cornwaleys Esq complained that John Cage apprentice, servant for a term until 10 Nov next, has departed out of service and refuses to serve. Damage to the plaintiff o 30 # tobacca per day until he returns to service. Warrant to sheriff to take defendant & have him at Court on 1 Dec next to answer.

8 Apr 1648 Will of Thomas Payne. Witnesses were Phillip Auder & John Cage, who were also ordered to inventory the estate.

Joan Michell, plantive. Joane Michell, relict of Thomas Michell. Her husband sold to John Cage the land where he now lives without her consent and she demands satisfaction for her thirds. The defendant alleges that there can be no action for claim of Dower and asked for abatement which was granted.

20 Mar 1650 John Cage of Province of Mariland, planter has 100 acres due by assignement from Richard Lawrence & 50 acres for time of service to Capt Thomas Cornwallis many years since. Granted parcel on Wicokomeco River near the head of the River, 150 acres.

Between Feb & Jul of 1676, John Cage of Charles Co MD died. Mentioned are two children of daughter Voyders. [This would seem to indicate the existence of a will.]
