Cornelius was a son of Cornelius of the 3rd generation who was a son of Charles Mabry.
He first married about 1783 to Mary Yeakley in Rockingham Co NC.
He married Polly Cheney in Pittsylvania Co, 20 Feb 1797 - her father Ezekiel Cheney gave permission. William Cheney was bondsman. John Atkinson performed the rites.
