Johann Nichel Crantzdorf

Johan Nichel and his brother arrived in Philadelphia PA aboard the "Thistle" on 19 Sep 1738. The brothers boarded the ship at Rotterdam, Holland and traveled first to Plymouth, England. Johan migrated from Pennsylvania to Virginia and then to North Carolina.

[Note: In Passenger lists of the Thistle which arrived 19 Sep 1738, from Rotterdam by way of Plymouth, Capt. John Wilson, there was no name which could be imagined as Crantzdorf. Also on the Thistle of Philadelphia which arrived 28 Oct 1738, Capt George Houston, from Rotterdam by way of Cowes, there was no name which could be imagined as Crantzdorf.]

The baptism for several of Nicolaus' and Bartholomaus' children appear in the Catholic records of Hornbach and civil records at Zweibrucken show that Barthel and Nickel Cransdorf "of Rimbschweiler" left for America in 1738 with their wives and children. 5
No record exists of Nicolaus' or Bartholomaus' arrival in America (they were not on the "Thistle" which arrived 19 Sept. 1738, as one account reports.. 3
