Taylor was her married name - in November of 1887, the Pensions Bureau had apparently lost track of her, but found her living 2 1/2 miles south of Ashtabula, Ashtabula Co, Ohio with her son Mr. Norman S. Taylor.

Found in the War of 1812 Pension file of Job Garner. Silas Peck, aged 50, and Jane Peck, aged 38, of Grundy Co Iowa, testified that they were personally acquainted with Philip S. Taylor, the first husband of Sarah M. Garner, widow of Job Garner. Philip S. Taylor died on or about the 16th of June 1860 and they were present at his funeral and saw him buried. He died in Grundy Co, Iowa, near Hartford, Butler Co. They also knew Job Garner and were present at his death and at his funeral and saw him buried. He died on or about 9 Oct 1879, near Finchford, Black Hawk Co, Iowa.
