Named as a brother of Nancy, I have no confirmation.

James is said to have married Nancy Crum, 30 Oct 1828 - others say she was Mary Crum. In the Indiana marriage database on Ancestry, James Garner married Mary "Cromb", 30 Oct 1828, Delaware Co IN.
One of the databases gives a date of death for James in 1840 and I did find a widowed Mary Garner in 1860 that was about the right age, see later.

Land patents to James Garner, Delaware Co IN. SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 and the NW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 [adjoining 40 acre tracts] in Section 27, T 21 N, R 9 E. John H. Garner and Vincent "Gamer" were just north in Section 22; Job Garner to the west in Section 28.

23 Oct 1834 [Andrew Jackson was president] - James was of Delaware Co. patent for the west half of the SE 1/4, Section 21, T 20 N, R 10 E: District subject to sale at Indianapolis, 80 acres. Job Garner had patented the east half of the same quarter, 2 Sep 1834.
15 Mar 1837. James Garner of Delaware; land office at Ft. Wayne. The 80 acres as described above in Section 27, Township 21.
