To beloved wife Sarah, Negro man Dick and two women, Lena & Nancy, all my household and kitchen furniture, three milch cows, one bay mar four years old. At her death to be equally divided between my fice sons, Luke, Ambrose, Branton, Maston and Aris.
To son Luke, my Negro woman Stephanie and my Negro girl Mary Jane
To son Ambrose Jr. a tract of land in Floyd Co and bounded on the South by the land where Ambrose now lives and on the North by the land of Aris Cox, 250 acres. Also my Negro boy Ananias
To son Branton, my Negro woman Amy and my Negro boy, Sampson, and Negro girl Cyntha.
To my son Aris R. Cox, my Negro boy Peter and girl, Neomy.
To my six daughters, Dicy Bishop, Lucy Burke, Sarah Quisenbury, Mary Phillips, Elizabeth Wade & Eunice Wilson:
Mary Phillips, $300 to be paid in annual installments of $25 a year, the first payment due one year after my death.
Lucy Burke, $300 in the same manner. but to Dicy Bishop, if Lucy Burke should die before receiving the full amount to receive the remainder - her children by L??? Phillips to never have any part.
Sarah Quisenbury, the land on which she now lives which I purchased of Fleming & Samuel Saunders, also $300 as above.
Eunice Wilson, $150 in the same manner to be paid out of the funds provided by not otherwise.
Mary Phillips, my Negro woman Betty, girl Easter, and boy John. She or her husband Randolph Philips paying to the following $100 within twelve months of my death to be appropriated among the other legatees.
To daughter Elizabeth Wade, m Negro girl Winny and girl Sarah Jane
To daughter Nancy Lester I give nothing, having given her all if feel necessary.
To my executors, all my farming utensils after the death of my wife. Also all my stock of horses, hogs, sheep and cattle not previously disposed of and my two Negro men, Pompey and Lewis to sell in the following manner: the livestock at public auction, Lewis & Pompey at private auction to some good master - the proceeds to pay my debts.
Executors to be Luke Cox and John W.Holms.
