Carl M Corley 1907-2004
Carl M. Corley, age 97, of Fort Smith died Monday, March 15, 2004, in his home of natural causes. He was the chairman of the board of Carco International and was associated with the company and its predecessors Crouch Equipment Company from 1930 until his death. He was the first chairman of the International Dealer Council in 1962. He was the chairman of the Mid South Farm Equipment Association and an active member for many years. He was active and board member of the Arkansas Automobile Dealer’s Association.
He became a member of the First Baptist Church in 1939 and served as treasurer for more than 25 years. He in addition served as the interim music director during World War II and the Korean War when the director of music was called into the service. He was chairman of the board of deacons, chairman of the building committee, and with his wife was always a member of the choir.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2004, at the First Baptist Church with burial at Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Isabella Harris, and they recently celebrated this 75th wedding anniversary. He is survived by one son, Carl D. Corley and his wife, Jackie of Fort Smith. He was born in Greasey Valley near Paris, and his parents were James Pinkerton Corley and Lamina Bridget Mayberry. He was the last of 15 brothers and sisters all of who are deceased and too many nieces and nephews to mention.

She presented an affidavit of personal knowledge from Thelma Harris, age 75; copy of her marriage license from Logan Co, AR; birth certificate of a child dated 26 May 1935.
