Waire's parents (James C. Currin and Belle Smith) were both born in Alabama. On the 1910 Census, he was listed in Hopkins County, Texas living with his mother. On the 1920 Census, he was listed as a farmer in Cumby, Texas living with his mother. He married Zelda Mae Hull on 12/12/1923 in Cumby, Texas, daughter of William Fred Hull and Judith Ora Connor. On the 1930 Census, he was listed as a hardware merchant in Cumby, Texas with his wife Zelda. He was a rancher and investor. He was the first farm operator in Hopkins County to use farm machinery on a large scale. His horseless farm a mile north of Cumby was the location prior to 1954 for a successful experiment in mechanized farming. He had no children.
