Individual Details
Sarah KELLAR
(Abt 1784 - 9 Apr 1826)
16 Jan 1800 Peter Jones & William Agun bound. A marriage intended shortly to be solemnized between Peter Jones & Sarah Kellar, stepdaughter of William Agun, who personlly consented to the same.
Sarah & Peter Jones moved to Vincennes, Indiana where they operated a tavern.
Sarah's brother Abraham was administrator of Peter Jones' estate at least from about 1818 - 1828. He made distribution to heirs William and Charles Jones. The name Miss Elizabeth Jones had been crossed out on the back of one of the papers of the estate settlement - possible daughter. Abraham hired out slaves Ned, Lucy and Vina - Ned sickened and died in 1822. Young boys Moses and Anderson were also hired out. Vina was noted as having one child, then two by 1826, then her young child Edward died in 1828 requiring fee for a coffin. Anderson may have been her older child as he was not hired out until 1825. There is a note for expenses in bringing the Negroes belonging to the estate from Woodford Co to Jefferson, KY - why they were in Woodford Co is unknown.
